Was the XBox 360 Released Too Soon?

Less than a week after launch, xbox 360 owners have started to complain about several problems with their new xbox 360, mainly over heating and disk scratching. What seemed to be isolated cases several days ago, now appears to be more prevalent.

A reader of xbox Today claiming to be an xbox live technical support worker, believes that nearly half of the xbox 360s are broke.

I estimate at least half the 360's out there are broke... nothing but constant calls" explained the source

Regardless of whether-or-not the source does work for tech support, there is still a growing number of concerned xbox 360 owners with broken Xbox 360s.

The question that most people are asking is; did microsoft launch the Xbox 360 prematurely?

Last time around microsoft actually launched too late. Sony sold more than 20 million units by the time microsoft sold its first 1.5 million. This time around, microsoft has the head start. The nintendo Revolution and the ps3 are both expected to be released in 2006, at least 6 months after the launch of the xbox 360. However, with the obvious shortage, and the growing number of complaints, MS large head start may have less impact then previously thought.

As the next few months play-out it will be interesting to see if MS can overcome the concerns with technical issues as well as the obvious shortage prior to the launches of the Sony Playstation 3 and nintendo Revolution. Either way, 2006 is shaping up to be a great time for gamers.

Where Are All the Used Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls and Are They Worth It?

Golfers can not get enough used pro V1 golf Balls. As soon as we receive a shipment of used pro V1s, they are gone within a couple of days. I will be the first to admit, I am not a golf ball expert. However, I am curious and motivated to find out why we cant keep a large supply of used pro V1 golf balls and whether or not there are golf balls that are just as good. According to Titleist, pro V1s (MSRP $58) have:

New, staggered wave parting line - longer distance from enhanced ball flight

New, higher coverage 392 dimple design - penetrating trajectory for long, consistent distance

New, A.I.M. (Alignment Integrated Marking) sidestamp - integrated alignment guide for improved putting alignment

Longer driver distance

soft compression for outstanding feel

Drop-And-Stop control

The most durable of all Titleist tour-played golf balls

So, what else have I found out about used pro V1s? 1. Why are used pro V1s in such demand at $24 to $29 a dozen? The answer to this one was easy if I thought about it. Titleist pro V1s are the #1 ball used on the PGA tour. The pro V1 is the most preferred ball by lower handicap players. It makes complete sense that these balls are found less often in water or lost in the woods. The PGA tour player and other experienced golfers are less likely to loose the ball. 2.

Are pro V1s really THAT good?I am sure that this question will stir up a huge debate, but I thought it was important to cover. Bottom line, yes they are a fantastic high performance ball. It was very hard to find anyone that did not feel the pro V1 was the best ball on the market. If you are looking for a ball with great feel and accuracy, the pro V1 is it. However, I do need to add, there are other soft balls that are very good. I can not really say other balls are actually better because it is really based on personal preference. Some simply feel more confident using a Titleist ball. This is where the Titleist brand name comes into play. Titleist is known to make some of the best golf balls. Golfers have been using Titleist for years. brand loyalty and comfort using the same brand goes a long way. 3. If I can not find any used Titleist Pro V1s, what should I use? When this question was asked, most would add, but they are not as good as the pro V1s. Keeping that in mind, feel free to try these performance balls around $10 to $20 used ($20 to $40 new):

Pros and Cons for Xbox, PS2 and GameCube - Part II

When it comes to buying a home console, the most important aspect is the games offer on the market. After all, you are getting the xbox, the gamecube or the ps2 for playing games, not for studying!

The games aspect can be interpreted in this manner: some customers are looking for a certain kind of games; others are not interested in the quality of the games, but in the quantity. Therefore, the games criterion varies from one individual to another.

Consequently, before buying an xbox, a gamecube or a ps2, you first have to decide what kind of games you like, and buy the console system that is more suitable for your taste. You should always keep in mind that a console system may be extremely fast, may have online support and great controls, but doesnt have the games you like playing; therefore the home console is not suitable for your needs. For instance, the xbox has much more games than the gamecube, but not all of them are very good. So, the games quantity aspect is not always enough for deciding on a certain home console.

When it comes to talking about games, we have to mention the exclusive titles aspect, meaning the games that are available on a certain system. Each of the xbox, the gamecube or the ps2 has its own offer of exclusive titles. For instance, Nintendos gamecube has games based on traditional characters like Mario, Starfox, Wario, Pokemon, Metroid or Zelda. Although the gamecube is lately trying to escape its kids-only image, this home console is the most appropriate if you are buying it for your child. On the other hand, the ps2 is most famous for its Grand Theft Auto series, which are more suitable for adult customers. The Xbox is well known for its exclusive titles Halo and Halo 2. The best thing about this systems games is the feature that they can be played online with and against other xbox owners. ps2 is also offering online capability, but it is not organized into a unified network. So if you are a fan of playing online, you should know that xbox has the best system for this feature.

In the end, you are always the deciding factor. If you are looking for games to be played with friends at home, on the couch, then you are a ps2 or a gamecube kind of person. But if you enjoy gaming against others over the Internet, then you should choose the xbox. Yet, dont forget that the games aspect may be important, but it is not the only one to take into consideration when buying a home console. The third section of this article will discuss further aspects on choosing a home console.
